They are conductive agents of the conveyor belt. Depending on their use and location, they receive specific names: drive drum, return, bypass, stretch, stop, self-cleaner, etc..

The main components of a drum are: the body, side discs, central disc, hubs, fasteners, shaft, bearings and liners. Drums can be smooth or lined with hot vulcanized rubber, cold vulcanized rubber, ceramic inserts or polyurethane.
The conformities and constructive formats of the drums may vary according to the customer's needs, and may, for example, be flat for general application or even curved for belt alignment and self-cleaning purposes for use with very abrasive materials or granules with a tendency to adhere to the belt.
